Full Day Program

The Maximum Development Hockey School program divides the teaching and training of  hockey fundamentals into 5 key areas: ON-ICE Power Skating, ON-ICE Hockey Skills, ON-ICE Game Situations, OFF-ICE TRAINING (plyometrics, stickhandling and shooting), and Daily Video Analysis.  Each day of the FIVE day program runs from approximately 9 am - 3 pm.

Hockey skills

Utilizes all aspects of puck control. The players will be taught the various ways to carry the puck (breakaway carry, various 1-handed and 2 handed carries, etc) in both forwards and backwards situations. They will learn various stickhandling techniques as well as 5 unique 1-on-1 moves. As well, the major shooting techniques will be taught for wrist shots, backhands, and snap shots. The slap shot is not shown as it is the lowest percentage shot in hockey and can be developed at a later stage.

Power skating is taught to the players in order to give them more control of their blades. This is done by specific drills isolating at first (and then combining) balance, agility, and quickness. This will ultimately lead to a faster skater who has both "straight ahead" and "lateral" speed. This combination will enable the player to excel at a much higher level than they are playing at present.
